The Problem: We grow enough food to feed every person on Earth. Yet over 1/3 of the food supply—108 billion lbs—is wasted every year in the United States, generating over 327 million tons of CO2e. Meanwhile, 47 million Americans lack access to safe and sufficient food.
Our Solution: The Farmlink Project connects farms with surplus food to communities facing hunger.
Wisconsin Impact:
- Distributed 556,160 lbs of surplus produce to WI
- Avoided an estimated 570 metric tons of CO2e emissions
- Rescued 182,950 lbs of surplus produce from WI
- Avoided an estimated 180 metric tons CO2e emissions
- Made 463,466 healthy meals possible
