That’s a wrap on the Champions Retreat ‘Great Lakes 2026’!

On behalf of our partners and sponsors, B Local Wisconsin was proud host the Champions Retreat ‘Great Lakes 2026’ in Milwaukee, Wisconsin in April and welcome the U.S. and Canadian B Corp community to the Midwest! We were delighted to have mission-driven leaders join us and explore our city, and hope that their experience was both memorable and productive.
Why Milwaukee? It’s a city that blends creative energy, industrial roots, and that renowned “Midwest-Nice” hospitality along the shores of the 3rd largest lake in the Great Lakes Basin. And why Wisconsin? Former WI Governor and U.S. Senator Gaylord Nelson founded Earth Day, first celebrated on April 22, 1970 by 20 million Americans, and led to the creation of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. In addition to Milwaukee unions’ key role in the American Labor Movement of 1886 that led to the 8-hour workday, and our National Gold Medal Award-Winning County Parks system, our community’s ethos for hard work, natural beauty, and celebration of ethnic diversity aligns with our state’s love for conservation, innovation, and cultural empowerment.
The 2026 Retreat theme was “Ripples to Waves”, which focused on small actions with lasting impact. At B Local Wisconsin, we were honored to welcome everyone to our city. To see photos of the event, click the photo collage below!
